Update generated files only during explicit compilation, not in background!

I absolutely love LINQ to XSD and I am using it in a few projects. The problem is that it very noticeably slows down my system to the point that I have to exclude an XSD, make the necessary changes and include it back. It also seems to constantly regenerate the C# files in the background which is slowing down my system so much that I am forced to look for an alternative if this is not fixed soon. I suggest to only regenerate files during the compilation that is explicitly triggered by the user.
